Our commitment.
Authority & Architecture is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors. We design, develop, and maintain this site with the aim of meeting or exceeding the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by U.S. federal Section 508 guidance.
Conformance status.
This website partially conforms with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conforms means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address these.
Measures taken.
- Semantic HTML5 landmarks (
main, nav, article, section, aside, footer) for assistive-technology navigation. - Skip-to-content link as the first interactive element on each page.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators (high-contrast gold outline) on all interactive elements.
- ARIA labels on interactive SVG graphics, decorative SVGs marked
aria-hidden. - Reduced-motion support: animations are disabled when
prefers-reduced-motion: reduceis detected. - The site is fully functional without JavaScript; all interactivity is progressive enhancement.
- Color contrast ratios meet WCAG AA for body text and large headings.
- Responsive design works at 320px width and above without loss of content or function.
- Heading hierarchy is logical and not skipped (H1 → H2 → H3 in document order).
Known limitations.
The following limitations are present and tracked for remediation:
- Decorative SVG complexity: certain stylized graphics (the radar visualization, the volume cover renderings) are decorative supplements to text content; their visual detail may not be fully conveyed by screen readers, but the surrounding text provides equivalent information.
- External font loading: typography depends on Google Fonts; if those servers are unreachable, the site falls back to system fonts gracefully.
- Fine print labels: some technical document-record monospace labels (e.g., "FILE AE-PR/01") are at 9.5โ11px and serve as decorative metadata rather than primary content.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, or have a suggestion for improvement, please contact us. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days.

Assessment method.
This statement is based on self-evaluation. Manual review is performed against the WCAG 2.1 AA checklist; automated checks are run with axe-core and Lighthouse audits. We have not yet engaged a third-party accessibility auditor; an external review is planned for the first major content update following initial publication.
Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology.
This site is designed to work with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari, and is tested with the following assistive technologies:
- VoiceOver (macOS, iOS)
- NVDA (Windows)
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- Keyboard-only navigation
Technical specifications.
Accessibility of this site relies on the following technologies, which work in combination with the browser and any assistive technology installed:
- HTML5
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript (for progressive enhancement only; not required for content access)
